PROLIFIC SHOPLIFTER GIVEN 3-YEAR CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR ORDER |
||
|
Dear Resident,
On 9th July 2026, prolific Bradford shoplifter James Baker was jailed for a total of 52 weeks for a series of shop theft offences. He was also given a 3-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
This outcome demonstrates the ongoing commitment of police and partner agencies in tackling persistent retail crime and protecting local businesses from repeat offending.
The Criminal Behaviour Order provides retailers with additional safeguards and gives police further powers to take action should the conditions be breached.
The terms of the Criminal Behaviour Order are that he must not: 1. Enter any Co-operative store, anywhere in Bradford Metropolitan District (as outlined in the attached Map A). This includes any immediate land and adjacent car parks owned by those stores.
2. Enter any retail premises for which a written banning or exclusion notice has been issued and served, anywhere in Bradford Metropolitan District (as outlined in the attached Map A).
3. Remain on any retail premises when asked to leave by an employee of that premises, anywhere in Bradford Metropolitan District (as outlined in the attached Map A). This includes any immediate land and adjacent car parks owned by those premises.
The Order will be in place until 8/07/29 and any breach is a criminal offence. If you witness Baker breaching the terms of the CBO, please call police on 101
Kind regards,
